Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

John McGuinness

Question:

511 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a medical card has not been issued on medical grounds to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if a decision will be expedited in the case of this person; and the reasons for the delay in dealing with the application. [15329/03]

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board/authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief execu tive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
