517 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Clare who was referred to a neurologist in April 1997 has not yet received an appointment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15351/03]

The provision of hospital services for persons resident in County Clare is a matter for the Mid-Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
