583 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of infants and pre-school children referred by community public health nurses for medical assessment by the community public health doctors who are awaiting appointments in each health board area since the public health doctors strike began on 14 April 2003; the arrangements which have been put in place in each health board area to ensure that these babies and young children receive early medical intervention; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 584 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the current waiting lists for the nine month developmental screening clinics, carried out by the community public health doctors in each health board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15816/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 583 and 584 together.

The Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards are responsible for the provision of health services, including child health developmental checks, within their functional areas. The information requested by the Deputy has not been provided in full by the health boards and the ERHA in the time available. This information will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it is received.
