Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Finian McGrath

Question:

675 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will reconsider a case (details supplied) and ensure that the visa office gives serious consideration to this query on compassionate grounds. [15597/03]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to his previous Parliamentary Question No. 227 on 29 May 2003. As I indicated in that reply, it is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of the visa by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department. In this regard, the immigration division, which includes the visa office, is located at 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2. To date, my Department has no record of an appeal being lodged in respect of the application. All documentation submitted with the appeal in support of the application will be taken into consideration by the visa appeals officer.
