Question:

684 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if there is a prohibition on High Court judges sitting on company or university boards; his views on whether such a prohibition is desirable in order to avoid a possible conflict of interest; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15778/03]

Article 35.3 of the Constitution provides, inter alia, that no judge shall “hold any other office or position of emolument”.
