Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Monuments.

Charlie O'Connor

Question:

709 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if he will report on contacts between his Department and South Dublin County Council in respect of Killininny Tower in Tallaght; if his attention has been drawn to the strong view of the local community that this historic tower be the subject of a conservation order and protected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15362/03]

Killininny Church and Tower in Tallaght is entered in the record of monuments and places under the National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994. Notice to my Department would normally be required of any proposal to carry out work at or in relation to a recorded monument. To date, my Department has received no such notice form South Dublin County Council on intended works at Killininny Church and Tower.
