Question:

711 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the number of disabled persons grant applications received by Donegal County Council since 1 June 2002; the number of said applications that have been approved; and the total allocation from his Department to Donegal County Council in 2002 towards the disabled persons grant scheme. [15384/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 710 and 711 together.

Information on the administration of the disabled persons and essential repairs grant schemes by Donegal County Council, in so far as it is available to my Department, is contained in the annual and quarterly housing statistics bulletins, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. In 2002 my Department recouped €1,785,203 and €743,194 to Donegal County Council in respect of disabled person's and essential repairs grants, respectively.
