Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

718 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the discrepancy which exists between the figures contained in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 745 of 7 May 2003 in regard to the amount spent by his Department in each RAPID area since the inception of the RAPID programme (details supplied) and the figures presented by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs in his speech to Dáil Éireann of 21 May 2003 regarding housing in RAPID areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15434/03]

The information provided by my colleague, the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, in his contribution to Dáil Éireann of 21 May 2003 regarding housing in RAPID areas, refers to the indicative costs of housing regeneration projects in RAPID areas in general. The information supplied by me in reply to Question No. 745 on 7 May 2003 refers to approved funding for specific projects that were submitted by local area implementation teams under the RAPID programme.
