Brian O'Shea

Question:

749 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the discrepancy which exists between the figures presented by him in regard to housing in RAPID areas in his speech to Dáil Éireann on 21 May 2003 (details supplied) and the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 745 of 7 May 2003 by the Minister for the Environment and Local Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15433/03]

Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs (Éamon Ó Cuív): The position is that the information provided by my colleague, Deputy Cullen, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 745 on 7 May, refers to approved funding for specific projects in RAPID plans, whereas on 21 May, I was referring to the indicative costs of housing regeneration projects in RAPID areas in general.
