Vol. 568 No. 2

Written Answers. - Radio Broadcasting.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

122 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources his proposals for a review of the local radio licensing regime; the terms of reference of the review; the person by whom it will be carried out; when it is expected to be concluded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15915/03]

I recently announced that I intend to initiate a review of the local radio licensing regime in Ireland. With the forthcoming establishment of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and with the conclusion of the present round of licensing, this is an opportune time to conduct such a review. I will make a further announcement when I have finalised the terms of reference for the review.

Question No. 123 answered with Question No. 97.
