Vol. 568 No. 3

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

82 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a medical card has not been renewed in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare. [16323/03]

The determination of eligibility of applicants for medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board/authority to decide. Accordingly, this case has been referred to the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
