Vol. 568 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

263 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Health and Children when he plans to approve funding for the radiological screening room for Mallow General Hospital, as sought by the Southern Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17070/03]

An application for funding for the replacement of the X-ray screening room at Mallow general hospital has been received by my Department. This application will be considered in the context of a review of health capital projects under the national development plan. It is expected that this review, which is being undertaken by my Department in conjunction with the Department of Finance, will be completed shortly. My Department will then be in a position to discuss with the Southern Health Board, the question of progressing this project in light of the overall capital priorities within the board's area and in line with funding resources available.
