298 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of bed closures since 1 January 2003 in respect of Beaumont Hospital and Tallaght Hospital; the total number of outpatients on the waiting list at the latest date for which figures are available; the total number of persons on the in-patient waiting list at the latest date for which figures are available; and the average waiting time for treatment in the accident and emergency department of each hospital. Services at Beaumont and Tallaght Hospitals are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and my Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine this issue and to reply to the Deputy directly.
