Vol. 569 No. 4

Written Answers. - Probate Law.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

262 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason his Department has refused to reply to matters of probate as in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary, when a question of this nature has previously been answered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18124/03]

Under the provisions of the Courts Service Act 1998, the day to day management of the courts and court offices such as the probate office is a matter for the Courts Service. Queries regarding specific cases such as the one referred to by the Deputy would be more appropriately directed to the Courts Service. I understand information regarding individual estates is readily available from the service.
