513 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the acreage of land owned by the Office of Public Works in the vicinity of the Casino Monument, Marino, Dublin 3; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18533/03]

The total area of land owned by my Department at the Casino in Marino amounts to 5.61 acres. The land holding includes the monument itself and the grounds that comprise its setting. The lands were purchased for the purpose of conserving and presenting the monument to the public.
