Vol. 570 No. 3

Written Answers. - Waste Permits.

Conor Lenihan

Question:

259 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if he will consider changing the law on the issuing of waste permits by local authorities in view of the fact that the public have no right of appeal against decisions made to grant waste permits. [19111/03]

I anticipate that a review of the Waste Management (Permit) Regulations 1998 will be completed later this year. I will have the issue raised by the Deputy considered as part of this review.
