Written Answers. - Ministerial Travel.

Mary Upton

Question:

117 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Finance the purpose of the meetings held in Brussels on 28 September 1992 attended by the then Minster for Finance and then Secretary General; the travel arrangements which were made for them; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19510/03]

The records show that a meeting of the ECOFIN Council took place in Brussels on 28 September 1992. The records also show that the delegation travelled to and from the meeting on scheduled Aer Lingus flights. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss recent developments in the European Monetary System, the Delors II package, the importance of combating fraud against the Community budget and the granting of financial assistance to Bulgaria.
