Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

986 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the proposals to downgrade the TB and respiratory unit at Peamount Hospital, County Dublin and to the concerns expressed by patients and staff in the general catchments area; if he accepts the ongoing need for the continuation of these facilities; if he will give a commitment to maintain the respective units into the future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20952/03]

Services at Peamount Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine the matter raised by the Deputy and to respond to him directly.
