Paul Connaughton

Question:

Paul Connaughton

Question:

1279 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government when a decision will be made on an application for a new house grant in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20293/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1246 and 1279 together.

Applications under the first-time buyer's new house grant scheme, which was terminated as and from 14 November 2002, were required to be received in my Department on or before 4 December 2002. There is no record of the receipt of an application for the grant from the person named at the address given by that date and, accordingly, a grant cannot be allowed.
