Vol. 571 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Tony Gregory

Question:

271 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress that has been made, the further steps taken and the timescale involved in the redevelopment of the lands at Grangegorman, Dublin 7. [21490/03]

In April 2002 the Government agreed that a statutory Grangegorman Development Agency be established to commence work on the integrated urban design and land use framework plan for the Grangegorman site and to manage the Grangegorman site as agent for the Eastern Regional Health Authority, the Dublin Institute of Technology and the Departments involved.

The Government also approved the preparation of the necessary scheme of legislation by the Department of Education and Science in consultation with the Department of Health and Children. The general scheme of a Bill, as approved by Government, is currently with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel with a view to the early publication of the Bill.
