125 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Finance the situation with respect to the renovations at the Garda station in Ashford, County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22623/03]

Following an arson attack in May 2003 on the Garda station in Ashford, County Wicklow, the Commissioners of Public Works, in consultation with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and the Garda authorities, are currently reviewing the long-term proposals for this Garda station. In the interim, the gardaí have been relocated to alternative accommodation in Ashford, County Wicklow.

126 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Finance if he has obtained a site for a Garda station at Dunlavin, County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22624/03]

A site for a new Garda station at Dunlavin, County Wicklow will be acquired in accordance with the recent request by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and also having regard to the availability of funding. The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform recently indicated that a new, small Garda station will be provided in Dunlavin.
