Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

225 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Finance if there are plans to dispose of the garage, store and other buildings owned by the Commissioners of Public Works at Muckno Street, Castleblayney, County Monaghan; if there is a possibility of handing these buildings over to the Castleblayney Tidy Towns Committee free or for a nominal sum in order that this area of the town could be restructured and upgraded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22855/03]

The Commissioners of Public Works hold a lease on a garage and shed at Muckno Street from Castleblayney UDC and are now negotiating a surrender of the said property. The remainder of the site, measuring 45 foot by 40 foot, containing a customs post is State owned and is surplus to State requirements. The Commissioners of Public Works are in discussions with Castleblayney UDC regarding this building.
