Question:

238 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Finance the locations in which the 26 people appointed from the provincial competition panel, have been assigned. [23102/03]

The Civil Service Commissioners held a competition for clerical officer in provincial locations in March 2003. Some 26 people have been offered appointment from this competition. Of these 26 offers, 20 persons have taken up duty. Some of the remaining six declined the offer or deferred the appointment. The locations to which the 20 successful candidates have been appointed are as follows: four to Furbo – the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs; nine to Limerick – two to the Department of Social and Family Affairs and seven to the Office of the Revenue Commissioners; and seven to Waterford – six to Land Registry and one to Revenue.
