Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rail Services.

Eamon Ryan

Question:

428 Mr. Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for Transport if he has received details of the projected cost that will be involved given the cancellation of the projected works on the DART upgrade project for September 2003; and if he has made representations to Dublin Bus regarding the possible reintroduction of the No. 8 bus service during the weekend closure of the DART line. [23393/03]

I am aware that following discussions with Irish Rail, Dublin Bus has agreed to enhance significantly the necessary level of bus services along its existing routes on the DART corridor while the DART upgrade work is proceeding.

I do not have any details of the costs associated with the arrangements necessary to provide these alternative bus services or with running DART services in December.
