Vol. 572 No. 5

Adjournment Debate. - Home Help Service.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

137 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has been refused home help in view of the fact that they have means of ?1,200 per annum and the old age pension. [23735/03]

The responsibility for the provision of the home help service in the Kildare area rests with the South-Western Area Health Board acting under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the board's chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him, as a matter of urgency.
