Vol. 572 No. 5

Adjournment Debate. - International Terrorism.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

98 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs his views on recent Israeli and US indications of support for a wider war on terrorism involving actions similar to the recent Israeli strike on Syria. [23686/03]

I am unaware of the indications to which the Deputy refers. The Government has consistently opposed unprovoked and unjustified attacks on the territory of any sovereign State, just as it has consistently opposed all forms of terrorism, whether at home or abroad. The Government's position on the pre-emptive use of force was set out by the Taoiseach at the UN General Assembly on 25 September.
