Vol. 573 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Paudge Connolly

Question:

137 Mr. Connolly asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of public service cuts proposed for her Department in 2004; the areas in which such proposed cuts will be effected; if they are likely to be at lower or higher levels; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24504/03]

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment is required to reduce authorised staffing numbers by 19 in 2004. The areas which will be affected by the reduction in numbers have not yet been identified but it is the Department's intention to minimise the effect on front line staff and on services to the public.
