Vol. 573 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Yield.

Dan Boyle

Question:

36 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Finance the anticipated shortfall in tax receipts for 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25710/03]

The end-September 2003 Exchequer returns indicated that a shortfall of up to €500 million in tax revenue may arise at the end of this year. A lot of tax revenue has still to come in and my Department will continue to review the position regarding the expected shortfall in tax revenues in the period leading up to the budget.
