Vol. 574 No. 2

Written Answers. - First World War Ammunitions.

Seán Ryan

Question:

179 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a number of guns (details supplied) which were in use in the First World War in England were transferred to Ireland as part of the Irish independence treaty; and the nature and location of same whether in storage or on public display at present. [26666/03]

I understand that the guns referred to are currently on long-term loan to Donegal County Council and are on permanent display at Fort Dunree Military Museum. The guns are maintained by the military authorities on a regular basis, under an agreement with the museum.
