Vol. 574 No. 5

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

John McGuinness

Question:

186 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if a medical card will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if a separate card will be issued to this person's daughter; and if a decision will be expedited. [27662/03]

The determination of eligibility of an applicant to a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board-authority to decide. This case has been referred to the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
