Written Answers. - Community Employment Schemes.

Richard Bruton

Question:

94 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will indicate the income payment levels to community employment participants; if she has made provision for increases in the payment levels for 2004 or if she will be obtaining a separate Budget day increase to meet this cost. [27969/03]

The FÁS community employment grants towards wages paid by the community group sponsors, effective from 1 January 2003, are as follows: participants without dependants, €149.20; participants with an adult dependant, €232.00; each child dependant (full rate) €16.80, each child dependant (half rate) €8.40.

Any increase in social welfare payments which may be announced in the Budget will be met from within the 2004 allocations.
