Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

311 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the current strength of the Garda in the various stations throughout County Kildare; the extent to which he can increase this strength in order to assist in the fight against crime; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28406/03]

The Garda authorities are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel. They have informed me that the personnel strength, in all ranks, of each Garda station in County Kildare as at 20 November is as follows:

6

Kill

3

The situation will be kept under review. When additional personnel becomes available the needs of Garda stations in County Kildare will be considered within the overall context of the needs of stations throughout the country.
