Vol. 575 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

79 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the investigation which has been held into reports that a sum of around ?50,000 went missing from the headquarters of the national drugs unit in Dublin Castle; the outcome of such an investigation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28240/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a senior Garda officer has been appointed to investigate all aspects and circumstances surrounding this alleged incident. It would not be appropriate to comment on the matter pending completion of that ongoing investigation.
