Vol. 575 No. 5

Written Answers. - Architectural Heritage.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

174 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if his Department will consider an application for grant assistance from the authorities at St. Joseph's Hall, Kilcock, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28786/03]

I assume that the Deputy's question refers to the conservation grant scheme under the urban and village renewal measure of the Southern and Eastern Regional Operational Programme 2000-2006. It aims to upgrade buildings of significant architectural and heritage merit that are in public ownership or open to the public generally. My Department has not received an application for grant assistance under this scheme for the building. All applications received are assessed by a conservation advisory panel.
