Vol. 576 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Enda Kenny

Question:

131 Mr. Kenny asked the Taoiseach the costs which have accrued to his Department in respect of the e-Cabinet project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29163/03]

Total expenditure to date, including the PwC feasibility study, which identified the efficiencies that can be gained from the e-Cabinet initiative, is €2.12 million, including VAT. I will address the matter of a statement in my response to an identical question, which is due for oral reply shortly.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

132 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the status of the study commissioned by her Department, and being undertaken by a company (details supplied) under the terms of the PPF, into active labour market programmes; when she expects the report to be published; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [28839/03]

An overall appraisal of active labour market programmes is being carried out under the aegis of the standing committee on the labour market, which is chaired by my Department. Indecon international economic consultants were commissioned on behalf of the standing committee to facilitate a rigorous assessment of the overall effectiveness of existing programmes and to help inform the deliberations of the standing committee. The standing committee review of active labour market programmes is due to be signed off within weeks and the Indecon report, which was completed in November 2002, has informed this work. It is intended that the Indecon report will be published on my Department's website when the standing committee has completed its work
