Vol. 576 No. 2

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

John Gormley

Question:

194 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if there are rules or guidelines regarding the provision of parking spaces for disabled residents and their carers at blocks of apartments, such as the Iveagh Trust flats, where recent security measures have led to difficulties for people with impaired mobility; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29525/03]

My Department does not have a responsibility for the provision of parking spaces. I understand that matters relating to parking are the responsibility of the local authorities which operate under the aegis of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

If the Deputy wishes to provide further detail on any aspect of the issue which might pertain to my Department's remit, I will be happy to look into it.
