Vol. 576 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

245 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress in regard to the provision of the promised new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30454/03]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 238 of 13 November 2003 which set out the position with regard to the building of the Garda station in Leixlip. The position has not changed since that date.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

246 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a visa application for a person (details supplied) was refused; and if the decision can be reviewed. [30529/03]

The person in question made an application for a visit visa in September 2003. The application was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of the visa. In particular, it was felt that the applicant had not displayed sufficient evidence of her obligations to return home following her proposed visit. The supporting evidence referred to by the Deputy was not enclosed with the visa application. It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department.

Question:

247 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a visa application for a person (details supplied) was refused; and if the decision can be reviewed. [30530/03]

The person in question made a visa application in August 2003. The application was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of the visa. In particular, it was felt that the applicant had not displayed sufficient evidence of her obligations to return home following her proposed visit. It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of the visa by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department.
