Question:

36 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Finance the implications the Hoffman judgment in the European Court has here for the argument that fees paid to non-established artists by not for profit organisations be exempt from VAT. [27384/03]

Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy):

My Department and the Revenue Commissioners are still considering the full implications of the Hoffman ruling and I am unable to give a definitive view on the matter at this stage. I will be examining the issue further in due course.
