Vol. 577 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Correspondence.

Martin Ferris

Question:

377 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a considerable amount of correspondence sent by a company (details supplied) to the coastal zone administration division of his Department goes unanswered for unacceptably long periods of time; and if it is not Government policy to be so complacent in view of the possible effects of hindering a much needed investment project. [31188/03]

My Department has been engaged in a protracted correspondence with the company in question, with the objective of ensuring that the company complies in full with the terms and conditions of the foreshore lease relating to their development. The Department is in consultations with the legal services on these matters and will communicate with the company in the near future.
