Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Costello — the Minister's plans to tackle the problem of the annual epidemic of fireworks in the run up to Hallowe'en; (2) Deputy Catherine Murphy — the funding approach relating disabled persons and essential repairs grants by local authorities; (3) Deputy Michael Moynihan — to ask the Minister the potential for inclusion of Banteer station in the new early morning train service on the Tralee to Killarney to Mallow line; (4) Deputy Connaughton — the important matter of the construction of the western rail corridor; (5) Deputy Cowley — to ask the Minister if she will provide the necessary funds to the adult literacy and child care courses within the Mayo vocational education committee area; (6) Deputy Ring — to ask the Minister her plans to provide a permanent site for a school in County Mayo and the progress on this matter; (7) Deputy Cooper-Flynn — if the Minister will enable the County Mayo Vocational Education Committee to complete its adult literacy and BTEI programmes; (8) Deputy Naughten — the need for the Minister to ban immediately the importation of beef following the diagnosis of foot and mouth disease within the Brazilian herd; (9) Deputy Twomey — to ask the Minister to clarify a recent statement that primary and secondary schools should not be on the same site in Gorey; (10) Deputy Allen — the cost overruns involved in the preparation and production of Irish passports and the payment of royalties to contractors for passports issued; and (11) Deputy Enright — to ask the Minister if he is aware the bypass project scheduled to begin in Tullamore in September 2006 has been shelved until 2009.

The matters raised by Deputies Allen, Costello, Cowley and Cooper-Flynn have been selected for discussion.
