Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals

The first item is COM (2011) 625, a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council, establishing the rules for the direct payment to farmers under the support schemes within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy, CAP. It is proposed that this warrants further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2011) 626 concerns a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council, establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products single CMO regulation. It is proposed that this warrants further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2011) 627 is a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on the support of rural development by the European agricultural fund for rural development. It is proposed that this warrants further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2011) 628 is a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on financing, management and monitoring of the agricultural policy. It is proposed that this warrants further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2011) 629 is a regulation determining the measures on fixing certain aids and refunds relating to the common organisation and markets in agricultural products. It is proposed that this warrants further scrutiny. It is proposed that the Minister or the Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is invited before the committee regarding COM (2011) 625 to COM (2011) 629, inclusive. In more general terms, he can also brief the committee on the proposal and Ireland's position regarding the CAP in the 2014-20 period. It is also proposed that the key representative organisations are invited before the committee regarding their proposals and concerns for the CAP in the 2014-20 period. Is that agreed? Agreed.

COM (2011) 161 concerns the extension of Food Aid Convention 1999. It is proposed that this does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.
