Scrutiny of EU Proposals.

The next item relates to scrutiny of EU legislative proposals. COM (2006) 288 is a proposal for a Council decision on authorising member states to ratify, in the interests of the European Community, the 2006 Consolidated Maritime Labour Convention of the International Labour Organisation. The proposal is for noting.

COM (2006) 470 is a proposal for a Council regulation for a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain plastic bags and sacks originating in the People's Republic of China and Thailand and terminating the proceedings on imports of certain plastic sacks and bags originating in Malaysia. The proposal is also for noting.

COM (2006) 343 is a proposal for a Council decision authorising the conclusion of the agreement to renew and modify the agreement on research and development activities in the domain of intellectual manufacturing systems, IMS, between the European Community Australia and Canada, the EFTA countries, including Norway and Switzerland, and Korea, Japan and the United States of America. The proposal is for noting.

COM (2006) 456 is a proposal for a Council decision on the application of certain guidelines in the field of official supported export credits. It is for noting.

COM (2006) 420 is a proposal for a Council decision on the signature on behalf of the Community of the additional protocol to the European agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their member states on the one part and Romania on the other part on conformity assessment and acceptance of industrial products, and a proposal for a Council decision on the conclusion of an additional protocol to the European agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their member states on the one part and Romania on the other part on conformity assessment and acceptance of industrial products. Is it agreed to note this proposal? Agreed.

The following proposals have been referred to the joint committee for further scrutiny: COM (2006) 495, a proposal for a central regulation repealing the anti-dumping duty on imports of synthetic stable fabrics of polyester originating in Australia, India, Indonesia and Thailand and terminating the proceedings in respect of such imports following expiry reviews pursuant to Article 11(2) of Council Regulation EC No. 384/96 and the partial interim review pursuant to Article 11/3 of such imports originating in Thailand. COM (2006) 472 is a proposal for a Council regulation imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty and collecting definitively the provisional duty imposed on imports of certain items of footwear with leather uppers originating in the People's Republic of China and Vietnam. The committee is awaiting advice on the proposals from Mr. John Kissane and they will be placed before members for consideration at a later date. Is that agreed? Agreed.
