As far as I can understand the Dáil will not be meeting after the Recess until about the 11th January. We have disposed of all the business now available for us. Having regard to the stages in which the various Bills have been advanced in the Dáil, there is nothing further that we can do between this and the Christmas Recess. The Seanad will meet on the 26th January for the purpose of filling a casual vacancy, but conditions may arise which would render it desirable we should meet earlier than that. If you agree to that we could now adjourn generally, on the understanding that you will not be called together until the 26th January unless circumstances arise that make it desirable the Seanad should be convened earlier. If that is the wish of the House I shall declare the House adjourned generally.
