Vol. 24 No. 1

Death of a Senator.

It is with very deep regret that I announce to the House the death, since our last meeting, of Senator Patrick T. Keohane.

The late Senator, since becoming a member of the Oireachtas, had impressed his fellow members by his courtesy and charm. Of kindly disposition, unobtrusive to a degree, he went about his duties in the Seanad in the same quiet manner in which he performed his work in the national movement and in the numerous national activities in which he shared, and in many of which he played a pioneer part, previous to his entry into public life. His death will create a void in the public, commercial and national life of the country.

With the assent of the House I shall convey to the widow and to the relatives of the deceased Senator the expression of our sincere sympathy. Would Senators be good enough to signify their assent by rising in their places?

Senators rose in their places.
