I move:—
That Seanad Eireann hereby approves of the Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1944.
Public Business. - Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1944—Motion of Approval.
This is an Order which it has been thought well to make every year under the Control of Imports Act, regulating the import of sugar except under licence. As a matter of fact, in present circumstances, this is merely a formality, as there is no importation of sugar, but it is necessary to make the Order, and the Order must be confirmed by the Oireachtas.
