Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 21 Apr 1948

Vol. 35 No. 1

Motion for Earlier Signature.

I move:—

That, pursuant to sub-section 2º of Section 2 of Article 25 of the Constitution, Seanad Éireann concurs with the signature by the President as soon as may be of the Imposition of Duties (Confirmation of Order) Bill, 1948.

I think, Sir, that the Minister's explanation of the time factor on this Bill has made the motion sufficiently clear. The eight months' period will end on the 25th April of this year. As there is a period of five days in which the Bill might be signed, we ask the Seanad to pass the resolution asking the President to sign it at once.

Question put and agreed to.
