I have to announce the resignation as a member of Seanad Éireann of Luke Joseph Duffy, consequent on his appointment by the Minister for Industry and Commerce as a member of the Industrial Development Authority.
Resignation of a Senator.
The resignation of Senator Duffy causes a vacancy on a number of committees and I would like to move that Senator John T. O'Farrell be appointed to the Committee of Selection in place of Senator L.J. Duffy. The Committee of Selection can then take steps to fill the other vacancies.
