Vol. 36 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the First Stages, Nos. 1, 2 and 3 and the Second Stage No. 4. In the case of the motion, No. 5, in the name of Senator Counihan, the Minister for Agriculture is unable to be present today and Senator Counihan has therefore agreed that the motion will not be taken to-day. It will be taken to-morrow if the Minister for Agriculture is then available. Motion No. 6, I understand, will be taken and it is expected that the Minister for External Affairs will be present. It is intended to meet to-morrow for the purpose of taking the Second Stage of the Electricity Supply (Amendment) Bill and we hope the Second Stage of the Finance Bill, which is ordered for the Dáil this afternoon. The Committee on Procedure and Privileges considered that matter this morning.

With regard to sittings next week?

With regard to next week, the Committee thought that since Wednesday, the 29th June, is a Church holyday, Thursday and Friday next would be the most appropriate days for sitting. It is proposed, therefore, to adjourn to-morrow until to-morrow week. It is important to get the business done as soon as we can.
