Vol. 37 No. 16

Imposition of Duties (Confirmation of Order) Bill, 1950—Motion for Earlier Signature.

With regard to the signing of the Bill, it has been explained by the Parliamentary Secretary that the Imposition of Duties Order was made on August 23rd, 1949. It lapses, therefore, on April 22nd, unless it has been previously confirmed, and for that reason I move:—

That pursuant to sub-section 2º of Section 2 of Article 25 of the Constitution, Seanad Éireann concurs with the signature by the President as soon as may be of the Imposition of Duties (Confirmation of Order) Bill, 1950.

Motion put and agreed to.
