Vol. 42 No. 3

Great Northern Railway Bill, 1953—Committee and Final Stages.

Sections Nos. 1 to 13, inclusive, agreed to.
SECTION 14.
Question proposed: "That Section 14 stand part of the Bill."

I know it is not practical to propose an amendment at this stage but I would like to ask the Minister why, when going to the trouble to provide against interference, he did not, in view of the fact that the Bill applies in both parts of the country, provide against television, against which undoubtedly motor-cars and similar bodies do interfere?

I do not know the answer to that.

Question put and agreed to.
Sections 15 to 22, inclusive, Schedules and Title agreed to.
Bill reported without amendment.
Agreed to take the remaining stages now.
Question—"That the Bill be received for final consideration"—put and agreed to.
Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

We have been in contact with the Ministry of Commerce in Belfast and, in view of the stage which the corresponding measure has reached in the Senate in Belfast, there is no reason why we should not proceed to complete the enactment.

Question put and agreed to.
